At the time of recording this, the only way to work with dynamic flow diagram arrows in Figma has been through a plugin. Many of the best options like Autoflow and Flowkit by MDS are paid options. I'm not against paid plugins and options but the reality is that sometimes that might just not be an option for you or your team.
One day I noticed that FigJam had dynamic flow arrows enabled. Around this same time I also saw that Figma dropped a Little Big Update announcing that it was now easier to paste elments between FigJam and Figma. So I thought…what if…I pasted a native flow diagram arrow from FigJam into Figma, and guess what? It works! Check out the video to learn a bit more.
I stumbled across this one day and recorded a short video for my team. I'm sharing it here and on YouTube in case anyone out there finds it useful. Things like this tend to have a short lifespan but regardless, I hope it proves useful to someone while it's fresh. ✌️
