Collaboration Toolkit

It's no secret that I love collaborating with designers, engineers, and product managers. As the saying goes, "nothing great is made alone." As our industry adjusted to full time remote work in 2020, I created this toolkit to help enhance the experience of collaborating with teammates while designing together in Figma.

An internal toolkit and a Figma Community Resource

The toolkit attempts to replicate that feeling of in-person design reviews where teammates would be reviewing work together in the same room and placing sticky notes on the wall to either leave feedback, praise, ask questions, or to cast a vote for a particular option or direction. The toolkit also includes several components that are intended to help with organizing and documenting work so it is clear and easy to follow along with a teammates progress.

Figma's comments features are great. However, they aren't always the most visible and can feel quite obfuscate from the work, especially for teammates with lower fluency in the tool. After releasing an internal version of this tool to my team we saw collaboration, documentation and team participation increase across the whole team.

Want to know more about this project?

I'd be happy to set up call where I can share more details about the project, challenges, constraints, and answer any questions you might have.
